Lazio and Nigeria international midfielder Ogenyi Onazi has confirmed that a number of European teams are interested in signing him.
The Nigerian Daily Post believes that Liverpool, Everton and Borussia Dortmund are the teams looking at the player and the 23 year old is quoted by the paper as saying:
“There are so many interests but I am contracted to SS Lazio. But I am still looking and if anything is going to happen, the media will know about it.”
Onazi played 22 times for the Serie A side last season, scoring one goal and providing one assist. He joined Lazio in 2011 as a youth player after being scouted in his home country of Nigeria.
He has 38 caps for the national side and played every match as the Super Eagles won the 2013 African Cup of Nations. He also started all 4 games for Nigeria at the 2014 World Cup where they were knocked out by France at the last 16 stage. For his club, his most notable contribution has been scoring a last minute winner against Napoli in a 3-2 win to secure Champions League qualification at the end of the 2014/15 season.
