Liverpool midfielder Sergi Canos is expected to move to Championship side Bristol City for £2.5million, according to the Liverpool Echo. Canos made his debut as a 81st minute substitute against West Bromwich Albion in the 1-1 draw at the end of last season but failed to agree a new contract to stay at Anfield.
He described the moment that he made his debut for the Reds as a dream come true but is now likely to be plying his trade for the Robins next season. Canos performed well while at Brentford on loandlast season, playing 38 games and scoring 7 goals, and it would most likely have been the case that the young Spaniard would have had more game time with the Reds next campaign.
The player’s representatives and the club however could not agree on wages with it believed that Canos was demanding more than other players who had recently graduated from the Academy. Whether it is the right move for his career, we will have to wait and see.
