Norwich City have matched Bristol City’s £2.5million bid for Liverpool midfielder Sergi Canos, according to the Liverpool Echo.

The Spaniard was all set for a move to the Robins but he stalled on the move once he heard that relegated Premier League side Norwich were interested in him. With the Canaries bid now accepted, it is now expected that Canos will make the move to Norfolk, rather than Ashton Gate.

The 19 year old made his debut for Liverpool on the last day of last season after coming on as a 81st minute in the Reds’ 1-1 draw with West Bromwich Albion.

He had impressed out on loan at Brentford last season, making 39 appearances in all competitions, scoring 7 goals and providing 5 assists. With the player’s contract running down and the club refusing to meet the player’s £10,000 a week wage demands, Liverpool are willing to allow the youth player to leave the club this summer.
