Italian club Bologna are the latest club to be linked with Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli. After it was revealed that the Italian turned down to Turkish champions Besiktas, Tuttosport is speculating that a return to Italy with Serie A side could be on the cards.

Bologna are believed to be particularly keen, according to the Italian newspaper, because they are aware that Liverpool are prepared to give the 25 year old away on a free loan, and are willing to pay a percentage of the forward’s substantial wages.

Besiktas president Fikret Orman had publicly expressed his interest in Balotelli but a message published in the Turkish media from the player to his agent Mino Raiola says that he only wants to play in one of Europe’s top leagues in England, Spain or Italy.

Bologna finished 14th in Serie A last season, and would certainly fit in with Balotelli’s demands. Whether they can afford the deal is another matter altogether.
