Liverpool are interested in signing Jordy Gaspar from Lyon, according to France Football magazine. The 19 year old has yet to sign a professional contract with the Ligue One club and the French side fear he could be poached by the Reds.

Gaspar is also interesting Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen, France Football believes. He mainly plays at right back but can also play on the left hand side if required.

He is yet to play a senior game for Lyon but has appeared in the UEFA Youth league, making seven appearances last season, providing two assists as his side were knocked out by Ajax Amsterdam in a 3-0 defeat at the last 16 stage of the competition.

Whether Gaspar would be used in the first team squad if he moved to Anfield is uncertain. Jon Flanagan is expected to depart for Burnley on loan leaving Connor Randall as back up to first choice right back Nathaniel Clyne.
