Liverpool have offered a contract to Newcastle midfielder Moussa Sissoko, according to Le10 Sport. The proposal is to ensure that personal terms could be agreed before they make an offer for the 26 year old, the reports states.

Le10 Sport believe there has been “concrete proposals” from two clubs, one being Liverpool and the other from German side Borussia Dortmund.

The Bundesliga club have been tracking Sissoko for a number of weeks after impressing in the European Championships for France. It is believed both clubs will have to offer close to the asking price of £35million that Newcastle have set for the player but they are believed to be more flexible on how it will be paid. Le10 Sport state that Rafa Benitez’s side would require £21million (€25m) up front with the remaining £14million in installments.

Whether the Reds are interested in signing another midfielder is uncertain. They have just sold Joe Allen to Stoke City for £13million but Jurgen Klopp has stated that the club are looking at buying only one more player, with the left back position being the most likely to be strengthened.
