Wolfsburg have entered the race to sign Jakub Blaszczykowski from Borussia Dortmund, according to Kicker. The German magazine believe however that no decision will made on the Polish international’s future until August after the player returns from holiday.
Liverpool were linked with the midfielder earlier this month after it became clear that Dortmund manager Thomas Tuchel did not see the 30 year old in club’s first team plans.
Jurgen Klopp managed “Kuba” for seven years as Dortmund’s manager and his performances at the European Championships led to speculation that a move to Anfield could be a possibility. The Pole suffered a serious knee injury in 2014 which limited his playing time for Dortmund in the 2013/14 and 2014/15 seasons. He spent last season out on loan in Italy with Fiorentina but he failed to impress and the Serie A side did not take up their option to buy him after the midfielder made 20 appearances, scoring two goals and providing four assists.
