Italian newspaper Il Messaggero are reporting that Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli is looking for a house near Rome suggesting he is closer to a move to Lazio.

The same paper reported yesterday that Balotelli had been suggested to the Serie A side by his agent Mino Raiola and there was some interest in bringing the Italian international to the club.

The 26 year old has been linked with a number of Italian clubs this summer including Chievo, Sassuolo, Crotone, Bologna and Sampdoria but it is have become increasingly apparent that none of these sides have the finances to pay the majority of Balotelli’s €6m a year wages.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has said he will not be giving away players for nothing this summer, and with the lack of interest in Balotelli due to the high wage demands, it has looked more and more likely that the Italian would be staying at Anfield with the end of the transfer window approaching. This news regarding Lazio however, increases the hope that his future could yet be resolved before August 31st.
