Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli’s proposed move to Lazio will very much depend on the Serie A offloading forward Keita Balde Diao this summer, according to Tuttosport.

Both the Rome club and Bologna have been tipped as potential destinations with the Italian striker’s agent Mino Raiola working hard to find the 26 year old a club before the end of the transfer window. The move to Bologna looks less likely though with manager Roberto Donadoni expressing his admiration for the former AC Milan striker but he described any deal as “far-fetched.”

The Lazio move however does look more likely but they are struggling to sell Keita who has had an ongoing feud with the club’s owners all summer. Yesterday he was accused in a statement by his club of being “arrogant” and “unprofessional” after asking not to be included in the squad for the match against Atalanta due to a knee injury which manager Simone Inzaghi believed to be fictional.

Keita has been linked with Monaco this summer but there is no immediate possibility of a transfer meaning any move for Balotelli may have to wait. In any case, the Reds are believed to have already said that the Lazio’s offer to pay €2million of Balotelli’s €6million a year wages would not be acceptable so it could possibly be another dead end for the Reds forward.
