Liverpool midfielder Emre Can believes the positivity and the craziness that Jurgen Klopp brings to the club can only be a good thing for the squad going into the new season.

The German is going into his first full campaign as Reds manager, and has already stated that there are “no excuses” now he has had the opportunity to shape the side he wants. Can told Liverpool’s official website that his “positive-crazy” personality will help the team to stay close together:

“That’s the manager – I always say he’s a little bit ‘positive crazy’. Off the pitch he is a very good guy, everybody knows that he is very close to us. He can be very loud – you can see that on the sideline when he is shouting sometimes! It’s important for him that you always give everything. If you have the trust of the manager, you will always give everything for him and the club. That’s what we always try to do.”

Since arriving at the club back in October, Klopp has played Can regularly in a central midfield role, a position he wasn’t regularly used in by previous manager Brendan Rodgers who employed him as a utility player with spells at both right back and central defence. He will be hoping that being played consistently in one position under Klopp will allow him to excel and make strides forwards in developing his game.
