Besiktas president Fikret Orman has confirmed that they have come to an agreement with Benfica over the signing of attacking midfielder Anderson Talisca.

Record newspaper quotes Orman as saying that the Brazilian will be in Istanbul early this week to finalise the move to Turkey:

“The transfer of Talisca was completed successfully. The player will be in Istanbul earlier in the week.”

Both Record and O Jogo newspapers in Portugal have consistently linked the 22 year old with a move to Liverpool this summer but even in those reports, it was stated that the Brazilian would find it hard to gain a work permit after making no appearances for Brazil’s senior side. It was hoped that a special work visa could be attained if they could prove to the Premier League that Talisca was a special talent but they failed to get that idea off the ground as well.

Wolves were also linked with Talisca due to the attacking midfielder’s agent Jorge Mendes having strong links with the Championship side’s new Chinese owners but Besiktas have won the battle for the Benfica star.
