Former Liverpool striker John Aldridge believes the attacking style of play employed by Jurgen Klopp should lead to a number of players getting the opportunity to hit double figures in all competitions this season.

Writing in his column for the Liverpool Echo, Aldo has tipped six attacking players to reach the milestone this campaign:

“Realistically, you could see Sturridge, Firmino, Mane, Coutinho and Origi all hitting double figures this season. And Lallana should be aiming for that too. When we click as an attacking force, we’re unplayable. Fortunately, we are not relying on Sturridge any more for that ‘click’ to come. He’s got a battle on his hands to get in the team, which could inspire him to even greater heights.”

If Sturridge stays fit then there are no doubts he will reach that figure. Similarly with Origi, Firmino and Mane who have proved their finishing talents in past seasons. With Coutinho, although he did score 2 goals against Arsenal at the weekend, his form in front of goal is hot and cold, and in his past four seasons, he has only reached double figures once last season. Hopefully he can do the same this campaign.

In terms of Lallana, the 28 year old has struggled for goals since arriving from Southampton two years ago. He will be hoping his goal against Arsenal will be the start of a different trend for him this season.
