Liverpool have bid €5million for Porto defender Bruno Martins-Indi, according to Fanatik. The Turkish website believe that Porto are holding out for €7million as Jurgen Klopp looks to shore up a backline which has leaked five goals in the first two league matches of the season.

The 24 year old has a contract until 2018 and played 34 times in all competitions last season for the Portuguese side but the reports suggest that his club are willing to let him go for less than the €7.7million they paid Feyenoord two years ago.

Martins-Indi can play at left back but he is ostensibly a centre back. His flexibility maybe something which has attracted Jurgen Klopp as he looks to provide more cover at full back for the heavily criticised Alberto Moreno as well as strengthening the centre of defence which has struggled to keep clean sheets for a number of years despite the numerous changes of personnel in the backline.
