Lazio are interested in signing Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli, according to Il Messaggero. The Italian newspaper believes that the Serie A side could be interested as they look to replace Keita Balde Diao who is agitating for a move away from the Stadio Olimpico.

The Spaniard has fallen out with both the Lazio president Claudio Lotito and Sporting Director Igli Tare after stating on his Twitter page that the club had not kept promises they made this summer.

Il Messaggero are reporting that Balotelli’s agent Mino Raiola has suggested to Lazio that they could sign Balotelli in order to allow Keita to leave the club for Monaco, who are believed to be close to sealing his signature. Interim manager Simone Inzaghi is concerned by the fractured dressing room at Lazio with both Keita and goalkeeper Federico Marchetti wanting to leave the club.

The departure of Keita would go a long way to improving the atmosphere but questions remain whether Balotelli’s presence would help matters. Again it seems a loan deal is the most likely outcome but it looks that like Chievo and Sassuolo, Lazio would want Liverpool to pay at least some of the striker’s wages in order for the move to take place.
