AC Milan full back Mattia De Sciglio has rejected approaches from both Liverpool and Napoli, according to calciomercato.it. The 23 year old is believed to be holding out for a move to Serie A champions Juventus.

It was reported yesterday that Milan were prepared to sell the Italian international to free up funds for other purchases this summer after it became clear the sale of Carlos Bacca would be a protracted one.

In response to the speculation, De Sciglio’s agent Donato Orgnoni told Gazzetta di Parma that his client was interested in proposals both in Italy and abroad but if calciomercato.it‘s “exclusive” is to be believed, the left back is holding out for a move for Turin; a move AC Milan would be reluctant to permit considering their long time rivalry with the Old Lady.

Jurgen Klopp’s need for a new left back became more urgent when the Reds’ only left back Alberto Moreno limped off against Roma in a 2-1 friendly defeat in St Louis last night. Although it has since been confirmed it was only a dead leg, it demonstrates the Reds can’t rely on the Spaniard staying fit for every match this season.
