Inter Milan midfielder Gary Medel could be set to leave the Italian club, according to AS. The “Pitbull” has two years left on his contract at the Giuseppe Meazza and was subject to a bid from Liverpool in the transfer window but opted to stay in Italy, the Spanish newspaper reports.

Commenting about his contract situation at the weekend, Medel was quoted as saying:

“I’m not thinking about it, it is not the time to discuss renewal. For that, see my agent.”

One of the main reasons he stayed at Inter Milan in the summer was because of new manager Frank De Boer’s desire to keep him at the club but the former Cardiff City is said to be “not convinced” about staying in Italy.

Sevilla were also interested in signing Medel in the summer. The Chilean played for the Spanish club for two years between 2011 and 2013 before joining Cardiff and AS believe they may bid for him again next summer with Medel’s former national team manager Jorge Sampouli now in charge at the club. Inter are said to be holding for €12million, the same amount they wanted from Liverpool this summer.
