Juventus could bid for Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Mahmoud Dahoud in January to ward off interest from Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund, according to Calciomercato.com

The situation as it currently stands. reports the Italian website, is that the 20 year old is refusing to enter talks for a new contract which currently expires in 2018; that is despite the fact that there maybe a €10 million release clause if a club comes in for him after July 1st next summer. Juve have made contact with Dahoud’s agent Reza Faheli and have registered the interest but the player and agent will take their time to weigh up the best move.

Gladbach may look to offload the player in January if Dahoud continues to reject contract talks and Juventus are prepared to make their then move rather than wait until the summer when Liverpool, Dortmund and a number of other clubs may bid at a lower price. Back in July, the Guardian did claim the Reds were prepared to pay £25million for the German midfielder, and the Liverpool Echo have said he was one of two priority targets for Jurgen Klopp so a bid in January to beat Juventus and other rivals cannot be ruled out either.
