The 23 year old has been a late developer with the forward spending three years at Colon before moving to River Plate last season. He made a big impact during his first season at the Argentina Primera Division side scoring ten goals in 24 appearances in all competitions.

His displays for his club side subsequently led to international recognition and he made his debut for Argentina’s senior side against Uruguay and Venezuela in World Cup qualifiers back in August. He has also recently signed a new contract to stay at River Plate until 2020 with his release clause increasing from €15million to €18million (or £15million).

Inter’s interest especially is said to be the most advanced with former Argentina star Javier Zanetti, now the Italian side’s vice president, said to be keen on the player. so the Reds will face stiff competition if they are interested in signing Alario.
