Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge could be subject to bids from three different clubs in the January transfer window if calciomercato.com are to be believed.

West Ham United, Sunderland and Stoke City are named as the three teams but with all three languishing at the bottom of the Premier League, it would be highly unlikely that the Reds would want to sell him or the England international would want to sign for them.

Calciomercato.com’s angle for the story is that Sturridge’s is becoming increasingly frustrated at the lack of game time with the Reds, but in truth, niggling injuries have been the main reason that the prolific striker hasn’t featured more in some matches.

Jurgen Klopp does indeed prefer Roberto Firmino to play up top in specific games but as the Reds boss pointed out when Sturridge started against Leicester City, his forward runs can be vital for making spaces in opposition backlines and I would suggest that there is very little in this story other than the Italian website seeing which club’s are struggling for goals and what striker could be available. Hopefully the striker can stay fully fit for longer periods in the coming months and make more starts to put an end to any speculation.
