Liverpool could be interested in taking Inter Milan midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia on loan in January, according to webcalcio.net.

The Frenchman has struggled this season and has been openly criticised by manager Frank De Boer in the past week after making a mistake against Bologna in a 1-1 draw. De Boer told Mediaset Premium (translated by the Daily Mail) that the midfielder simply doesn’t listen to him, and when he failed to play simple passes as instructed, he was substituted:

“This morning [before the game] we talked about it, that he had to play simple and on the Bologna goal he did not do that. We already talked about this and he makes the same mistakes often.

“We cannot accept that from players when we’ve told them many times already. I told him this morning, so if he doesn’t want to listen, then what can I do? It’s not the first time we’ve discussed it. We told him many times, he doesn’t want to listen.”

Kondogbia came off after 28 minutes against Bologna and was subsequently benched for the match against Roma yesterday. Webcalcio believe that due to the Frenchman’s disagreements with De Boer, a loan in January is the most likely option with the Reds being tipped as a possible destination.

The 23 year old has 5 caps for France and cost Inter £25million in June 2015 after completing his transfer from French club Monaco. He has made 34 appearances during his 15 months in Italy.
