Liverpool are interested in signing Burnley centre back Michael Keane, according to Clubcall. The former Manchester United academy graduate joined the Clarets for just £2.5million in January 2015 but has quickly established as a first team regular in Sean Dyche’s side as they gained promotion back to the Premier League last season.

It is believed that Burnley are now demanding a fee ten times what they paid for him two years ago with Premier League champions Leicester City and Chelsea also circulating.

Clubcall reports Burnley rejected bids from both the Foxes and the Blues in the summer with Chelsea’s offer said to be close to £25million, after which they turned their attentions to David Luiz instead.

Liverpool’s defence has certainly started off shakily this season with no clean sheet in the Premier League so far and Jurgen Klopp may be looking for alternatives, especially given the difficult situation with Mamadou Sakho. The French defender is currently fit and has been playing for Liverpool’s Under 23 side but has yet to get back into Klopp’s good books since being sent home from the US tour.
