Liverpool fan favourite Daniel Agger says he is expecting Liverpool to have a good campaign under manager Jurgen Klopp.

Agger, who retired from football at the age of 31 due to injury, was speaking to Liverpoolfc.com before the 0-0 draw against Manchester United on Monday night. The former Danish international said he is expecting more from the Reds this season after a promising start under Klopp last year:

“It’s going well so far. To be honest, I have some expectations this year, especially after last year. Jurgen is looking good for the club, I think he’s doing well. He has some great ideas and the way he talks with the media, everything, I like.”

Agger was part of the side that came close to winning the league title in 2013/14 under Brendan Rodgers but was sold back to his home country to Danish club Brondby at the end of that season.

The centre back lasted two seasons there before deciding to retire this summer. He revealed in interviews afterwards the tremendous toll injuries had on both his life and career. Still he managed over 200 appearances for the Reds over nine seasons and will always be remembered fondly by Reds fans.
