Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp believes his side will not be outplayed by any Premier League side this season after already facing most of the so-called big teams in their opening fixtures.

The Reds boss is aware however that improvements still need to be made in some areas, especially in defending set pieces, something that this weekend’s opponents West Bromwich Albion will look to exploit. In an interview with Kit sponsors New Balance on their Facebook page (quotes via the Liverpool Echo), Klopp gave his assessment of the season so far:

“The good news is it is not easy to outplay us, the bad news is, we don’t defend at 100% on set-pieces. That’s another kind of truth, so we need to be really concentrated. We can’t avoid the set-piece, we have to defend them really well.”

Talking about Tony Pulis’s West Brom side specifically, Klopp said:

“They are physical and strong, we know about this, and as long as we have the ball, they cannot do something else – they have to defend us.”

Liverpool had 65% possession on Monday against Manchester United and restricted Jose Mourinho’s team to just one corner that Marouane Fellaini headed wide. The Reds will be happy if they have similar statistics versus the Baggies on Saturday evening.
