Liverpool are close to tying down both striker Ben Woodburn and full back Trent Alexander-Arnold to new contracts, according to the Daily Express.

The newspaper reports that the Reds have already agreed a new deal to keep Kevin Stewart at the club but they say the Reds also close to ensuring both Woodburn and Alexander-Arnold remain at the club for the long term.

Woodburn has impressed alongside Danny Ings in Michael Beale’s Under 23 side this season, and looks to have a bright future ahead of him in the game, while Alexander-Arnold has impressed manager Jurgen Klopp.

The right back is expected to feature against Tottenham tomorrow night in the EFL Cup as he was one of the players, along with Stewart and Danny Ings, who were not selected to play against Everton’s Under 23s in the mini-derby at the weekend. Marko Grujic and Ovie Ejaria were also left out and could feature at Anfield tomorrow as well.
