Liverpool and Southampton are both tracking Espanyol midfielder Marc Roca, according to Marca. The 19 year old broke into the Spanish side’s first team this season, making seven appearances and providing one assist so far.

Both the Reds and the Saints are particularly interested, reports Marca, because of the fact that Roca’s contract expires at the end of this season, and his current release clause is just €1.5million .

Roca has made his way through Espanyol’s youth setup to play for the La Liga club’s first team, and although he is mainly a central midfielder, he has own occasion played on the right hand side for Espanyol during his appearances for the side.

Marca believe that Roca is currently focused on proving to coach Quique Sanchez Flores that he deserves to keep starting matches, while Espanyol Chief Executive Ramon Robert is focusing on getting Roca to sign a new deal and increasing the low release clause.
