Napoli winger Lorenzo Insigne has asked his agent to sound out potential new clubs after contract talks with his current team reached an impasse, according to Abola.

The Portuguese newspaper reports that the 25 year old could be seen crying after being booed off in Napoli’s 3-2 home defeat in the Champions League to Turkish side Besiktas last week, and is now seeking to leave the club early as January in order to secure better terms.

Abola report that Liverpool are one of the clubs that will be sounded out. The Reds have been heavily linked to the Italian international in recent days but we will have to see whether the link is a concrete one or not.

Insigne has spent his entire career in Naples and maybe courting interest from other clubs in order to improve his current deal with the Serie A side. Napoli owner Aurelio De Laurentiis has been playing hardball and will not give in to the player’s demands so although there is a possibility of the player leaving, the Reds could be being used as a bargaining chip in negotiations.
