Liverpool striker Divock Origi has denied that there is any substance to the rumours linking him with a move to Juventus.

Italian website calciomercato.com has tipped either Origi or Daniel Sturridge as potential replacements for Mario Mandzukic at Juve but Origi was quoted by the Liverpool Echo as saying he had not heard about the rumours and dismissed them out of hand:

“I’ve not heard it. It’s a rumour, as there are many. No, I concentrate fully on Liverpool and the Belgium national team.”

Increased speculation over the 21 year old’s future has most likely come about due to his lack of game time under Jurgen Klopp in the league this season. While the Belgian has started both League Cup games, he has not featured much in the Premier League.

Roberto Firmino is currently first choice as the sole central striker while Daniel Sturridge has been given more game time off the bench as well as starting against Leicester City and Burnley in the league.

Origi’s ten goals last season helped Liverpool reach the Europa League and League Cup finals but with fewer cup matches this campaign, he may have to wait for his chance to get minutes on the pitch.
