Spanish publication Diario Gol are reporting that sources close to Real Madrid president Florentino Perez have told them that the Spanish club are “willing to pay” the €75million asking price which Liverpool have reportedly set for Philippe Coutinho.

The Brazilian’s performances for both club and country this season have increased interest in the midfielder with Spanish giants Real and Barcelona both reportedly looking to make a move for the 24 year old, if the Spanish media are to be believed.

The playmaker has been in excellent form this season with six goals and six assists in 12 matches, but in a press conference prior to Brazil’s match against Peru yesterday, Coutinho said he was happy to stay at Liverpool and work under manager Jurgen Klopp:

“Klopp gives me confidence, I feel at home.”

The midfielder struggled when he first came to Europe at Inter Milan, but under the tutelage of Brendan Rodgers and Klopp at Liverpool, he has come on leaps and bounds, and it is anticipated the Reds will try to put an end to any speculation about his departure by offering a new contract to stay at Anfield.
