Liverpool have sent their scout Kiko Espinar to watch a number of Barcelona B players, according to Sport. The Catalan newspaper say that Espinar has been spotted at a number of Segunda B matches this season but they are not sure which player the Reds are pursuing.

The most likely candidates according to Sport are Marlon Santos, Marc Cardona, Wilfrid Kaptoum and Nili Perdono who are all tipped to make the step up from the B squad to the senior side in the not too distant future.

Marlon is a centre back who joined from Brazilian side Fluminense in 2013 and already has been capped by Brazil’s Under 20 side. Cardona is a striker but at 21 years of age could be seen to have missed the boat for first team action at Barca. His five goals in four appearances so far this season in Segunda B however could persuade Barca he still has a future at the Camp Nou.

Kaptoum is a playmaking midfield player and has been at the club since the age of 12 after being picked up from the Cameroon as part of Samuel Eto’o’s youth foundation programme. Perdono meanwhile is a right back who has been tipped as a future first team player.
