Napoli winger Lorenzo Insigne has apologised to his manager Maurizio Sarri after a dispute between the pair on the touchline during the match against Juventus at the weekend.

Sarri said after the incident that he would not punish Insigne and the player told TV station Mediaset Premium (translated by Football-Italia.net) that he should have accepted being subbed:

“My reaction was wrong in the game against Juventus. Quite simply I felt fine, but I clarified everything with the Coach and my teammates. The important thing is to always be united.”

Insigne is in the middle of a contract dispute with Napoli at the moment, and has had run ins in recent weeks with the club fans due to the stand off over wages. The winger has been linked with a move to the Premier League with Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham whilst Valencia are also believed to be interested in signing the Italian international.
