Inter Milan midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia is still fighting for his future at the Giuseppe Meazza, according to calciomercato.com. The Italian website describe it as a “complicated” situation despite the departure of manager Frank De Boer.

De Boer heavily criticised Kondogbia’s inability to play simple passes and it looks as if the player’s confidence is shot. New manager Stefano Pioli has been working hard with Kondogbia from a tactical point of view but it seems the 23 year old has still not mentally recovered from his time under De Boer.

With the January transfer window approaching it may only be a matter of time for Kondogbia to regain his confidence and start performing to impress Pioli. Big changes will be made to the playing squad in January at Inter after a poor first half of the season but despite having rich Chinese owners in the Suning Group, the Italian side will need to sell before they buy in order to stay within UEFA’s financial fair play rules.

Chelsea, Liverpool and Marseille have all been linked with a move for Kondogbia and it doesn’t seem like the change of manager has affected the likelihood that he will be heading for the exit door in January
