As reported by The Liverpool Echo, Liverpool can break a record tonight if they beat Leeds United in the EFL Cup quarter finals.

It’s a competition we’ve been synonymous with thanks to our record eight wins of the competition, the last of which came in 2012, whilst we reached the final last season only to be beaten by Manchester City at Wembley.

Once again, though, the Reds are on the charge to Anfield South and if they can overcome their Yorkshire rivals tonight, a record will be broken.

In reaching the final four Liverpool will chalk up the most semi final appearances of any side in the competition.

At the moment, we share the record with Tottenham at 16 appearances but after beating them in the last round, a win over the men from Elland Road would award us another accolade.

Victory tonight would also see us reach ourĀ fourth League Cup semi final in the last six seasons, highlighting our continued good form in the competition.
