According to Tribal Football, Anderlecht have made a firm move for midfielder Soualiho Meite who it is believed has been targeted by Liverpool.

The young Frenchman is currently with Belgian side Zulte Waregem on loan from Ligue 1 club Lille and has impressed in the 17 appearances he has made for the club.

Despite being only 22 he is already a powerful and physical specimen but it appears that now, if the Reds want him, they will need to compete with Anderlecht for his signature.

The youngster has worked his way through the French national set-up and, despite yet to have played for the senior side, he has made a considerable amount of appearances for the younger ranks.

He’s typically a holding midfielder but can play as a central midfielder too and would arguably be something different to what we’ve got at the moment.

We don’t really have physically imposing players in our team at the moment and so if Klopp decides he wants one, perhaps Meite could be the answer.

What do you reckon, Reds? Let us know below!
