As quoted by The Metro, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has said that Loris Karius was not the only one to blame for the goal he conceded at the end of the game against Bournemouth and made an interesting comparison involving him.

The young German has had to deal with some pretty frank discussion about the mistake he made last weekend against the Cherries that saw them complete a comeback from 3-1 down to win 4-3.

The former Mainz stopper spilled in front of Nathan Ake who duly finished and killed the game off sparking furore in Karius’ direction but Klopp has been quick to defend him at all times this week.

And now he has compared him to David De Gea in the sense that even the best make mistakes.

The former Dortmund boss also described the Spaniard as one of the best. He said:

“I analysed it and eight players could have defended the goal before Loris was involved.

“Even the best goalkeepers in the world make mistakes.

“De Gea made one similar recently. There is no perfect recipe for development.”

It remains to be seen just how good Karius can be but here’s hoping he puts on a better display when next called upon.
