According to The Daily Mail, AS Roma are willing to listen to offers for their centre back Antonio Rudiger in January with Liverpool reportedly looking at the possibility of securing his signature.

We all saw at the weekend the clear deficiencies in the Reds’ title challenge as we threw a 3-1 win away to lose 4-3 at Bournemouth thanks to another shoddy defensive display but this rumour could help sort that out.

The 23-year-old German has seen his stock rise a great deal in recent seasons thanks to his displays with the Serie A club after joining from Stuttgart and it looks as though, should we put a bid in, we’ll have company.

The Reds are likely to face competition from Chelsea and both the Manchester clubs for the defender’s services according to the report and that’s, arguably, largely down to the fact he’s surely only going to improve in the coming years.

Rudiger has made eleven appearances for his country during his career and would likely partner Joel Matip in our defence should we manage to sign him.

Would Rudiger be a good signing, Reds? Let us know below!
