As reported by Sky Sports, Roberto Firmino and Joel Matip are fit enough to play this weekend against Bournemouth coming as a welcome double injury boost for the club.

The Reds have seen a number of high-profile injuries recently with Philippe Coutinho being stretchered off in our     2-0 win last weekend against Sunderland and Daniel Sturridge also picking up a knock in training.

Midfielder Adam Lallana has been another notable absentee and so the fact that at least Firmino and Matip will be ready for the Cherries has come at a very good time for the Anfield men.

The Reds are well in touch with the Premier League leaders – they are just a point behind Chelsea – and know they could go top with the Blues playing Manchester City also this weekend.

They need to win at the Vitality Stadium first, though, with the south coast club once again going well in the league under manager Eddie Howe.
