According to The Daily Mail, the Reds are now going to hold back on signing Quincy Promes for this window in a surprising turn of events.
The Dutchman has reportedly been a target of the club for some time and you’d have been forgiven for thinking we were going to make a move for him this month.
With Sadio Mane off to AFCON and potentially away until early next month we do look short in terms of the amount of wingers at the club and Promes would have been a suitable replacement.
He has the similar power and pace attributes as Mane and can play anywhere in the front three but it now appears that any move may not go through after all.
Of course, there’s every chance it could be back as potential deal in a few day’s time but we’re interested to see if a new name crops up in place of the winger.
