Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is one of the most lethal strikers in world football at the moment and with him working under Jurgen Klopp before, you can see why we’d want him.
The pair worked together at Borussia Dortmund, of course, and that is where the striker still is at the moment.
It appears, though, much to our somewhat expected dismay, that any potential link-up between our manager and the Gabon forward at Anfield could be someway off in the distance if it even happens at all.
As quoted by The Express, Aubameyang said when asked if he’d be interested in a move to the Reds this summer:
“I don’t think that’ll happen.”
Pretty short and not very sweet for us, then, but it’s probably to be expected.
He’s certainly the kind of calibre player we want to see more of at Anfield, though, but we reckon Jurgen Klopp is going to prefer to bring lesser known players in and try to get them to be at Aubameyang’s level.
