According to footmercato, Barcelona may target Mahmoud Dahoud in the summer in a potential clash with the Reds over his signing.

The Catalans are looking at Maxime Lopez but if they decide against him or cannot get a deal organised they will then turn their attentions to Dahoud.

And that is where they could end up battling with the Reds after the likes of The Daily Star have linked us with a move for the Borussia Monchengladbach man.

The German midfielder has earned a decent reputation for his controlled performances in Bundesliga midfield battles this season and last with his range of passing catching the eye.

He doesn’t score many, nor does he burst forward, but he is very easy to watch when the ball is at his feet and could be ideal if the Reds want another player to help the team tick-over in games.

Jordan Henderson has done that role well this season, though, so a battle for that role could be on.
