You’d be hard-pressed to find someone with an interest in football that doesn’t have an opinion on where it’s gone wrong for the Reds in recent weeks.

After going into January as one of the main challengers to Chelsea for the Premier League crown, we felt with some good additions we could really reel in the Blues.

Instead, though, we signed no-one and ended up crashing out of both cup competitions as well as now slumping to 5th in the table after a loss at Hull at the weekend.

It was another shocking display on our part as we looked lacklustre and tired – how we’ve been for weeks – and now Jurgen Klopp has waded in to suggest why that is the case.

Indeed, many feel it’s because we’ve not got enough players and the boss said that it’s he who needs to take the blame for that.

He said after the game (quotes via The Metro🙂

“What’s very important, never blame anybody else for your own mistakes.

“That’s not the case.

“I cannot change my answer only because we played bad football today.

“I cannot say ‘yes it would be fantastic if the club gave me the opportunity’, we had from the club side the opportunity to do something but we didn’t find the right players.

“That’s because the players were not available.”
