From the moment the Geordie born Shearer retuned to his boyhood club in a record breaking £15m move from Blackburn he secured a place in the heart of the Toon army. However after initially slating managers as a pundit on Match Of The Day Shearer was given the reigns at St James’ Park in a desperate attempt to save Newcastle’s season. Needless to say it didn’t work and Shearer is yet to return to management.
