In 2007 the Paraguayan former Bayern Munich man moved to Blackburn in a spell that temporarily revitalised his career. He was Blackburn’s top scorer for two seasons under the guidance of mark Hughes who took the striker with him to Manchester City in 2009. In 2011 he returned t Blackburn for six months. However he made fewer than ten appearances and scored no goals. He is now on loan at Real Betis.
