Excitement gripped Chelsea when it was announced that one Serie A’s most prolific strikers was moving to Stamford Bridge. An initial settling in period was afforded to Crespo and the Blues fans remained patient knowing there were goals in his boots. Sadly for them he never really adapted to the Premier League and whilst he popped up with the occasional net buster he failed to inspire confidence whenever he pulled on a Chelsea shirt and was shipped out on loan to AC Milan and Inter before heading back to Italy permanently in 2008.
