Andriy Shevchenko

AC Milan to Chelsea – for the sum of around £30 million, Chelsea would have expected a world class striker, but after injuries and a poor 2006 world cup, Sheva arrived at the bridge looking lacking in almost every area. Add this to the fact Mourinho simply did not want him and that Drogba was the best centre forward around at the time, things did not look good for Sheva right from the beginning. It is of course standard Abramovich to buy an overpriced and unwanted striker – Torres could have easily made the list in Sheva’s place, and it really does beg the question of when will Chelsea learn?
