Reading to Chelsea – much the same, Sidwell inexplicably decided to move from Reading to Chelsea. Now leaving Reading I can understand, but joining the team with the best midfield in Europe at the time? Either Steve had a very overinflated opinion of his talent, or he received a huge signing on fee. Either way, the player barley featured for the Blues before being shipped out as quickly as he came in. The money paid by Chelsea will not have caused them many sleepless nights, but for Sidwell, it was a poor move during what should have been the height of his career.
