With the departures of Jose Enrique, Joey Barton and Captain Kevin Nolan many predicted a gloomy season ahead for the Toon army. How wrong they were, coasting in the Champions League places at the moment Newcastle are yet to be defeated in the League, a feat only equalled by Manchester City. They may still be a work in progress and with Ameobi now sidelined for up to six weeks there could be problems but Newcastle are definitely the surprise performers of the League so far.
