Kelly has impressed in a Liverpool shirt over the last twelve months. He is superb defensively, confident on the ball, and versatile enough to play right back or in the centre. He has been one of Liverpool’s key performers in their evolution under Dalglish. He is assertive, a great tackler and a good reader of the game, and has a bit of pace about him as well. He has had his fair share of injury problems, and deserves a good run of fitness in order to establish himself as a legitimate choice for England.
