1. Martin O’Neill

Still a god at Leicester City, an attempt to bring him back to the club last week fell on deaf ears to add another chapter as to why the Northern Irishman is the biggest waste of talent in football. He guided the Foxes to two League cup successes and another final while maintaining their position in the top half of the Premiership, a feat not achieved since his departure. In five seasons at Celtic he continued this success, winning three SPL titles, three Scottish cups and a League Cup to go with an appearance in the 2003 UEFA Cup final, losing out to Jose Mourinho’s Porto side before leaving to look after his ill wife.

Since then he returned to football with Aston Villa, guiding them to three successive sixth places before surprisingly resigning five days before the start of last season. Since then he has rejected links with West Ham, Nottingham Forest, Liverpool and now Leicester but he seems to be holding out for a big name return. However, the offers don’t seem to be coming and the bright light that is Martin O’Neill, looks to be fizzling out.
