Another former England manager, his desire to play 3-5-2 at France ’98 was ill-advised but his record in charge is the third best in the history of our national side. While his time as national boss came too early for the ex-Spurs midfielder, he took Swindon Town to the Premier League, Chelsea to the FA Cup final and a League Cup final with Spurs.
