Despite Redknapp feeling that Sandra could score sitters that Bent missed, Sunderland have certainly gone downhill without the striker, struggling to find goals or a replacement. Any team would miss someone who can produce 32 goals in 58 appearances, and Sunderland are no different. Whilst he is not everyone’s cup of team, Bent is a goal scorer, plain and simple, and it is questionable if Sunderland would be in the same situation had they kept hold of the Englishman.
